Our 2009 Project

On October 29, 2009 Ate Ni sent us yet another email for the upcoming Give Love 2009 which states:

Dear Jologs, The exciting time has come again for us to share our blessings! Ully and I had a fun talk yesterday and we want to start turning the wheels for our outreach project this December, since we only got about 5 weeks to prepare for that. Below are our suggestions. Please, your inputs are much needed. We are hoping for everyone's support, enthusiasm, generosity, response and bright ideas. A) Theme Give Love 2009: a jologs outreach project (This is branding. Hehe! We thought that since we used that theme last year, might as well use it again this year. What do you think?) B) T-shirt It would be uber nice if we have a shirt this year. We have volunteered Efren to design! Please choose your preferred color 1. Yellow 2. Green 3. Pink C) Date (please state your preference) 1. Dec 5 (Saturday) 2. Dec 6 (Sunday) 3. Dec 12 (Saturday) 4. Dec 13 (Sunday) D) Activity (please state your preference; suggestions are also welcome) 1. Donate for typhoon survivors then we personally give to the communities; OR Volunteer in the repacking of goods (connect with LGUs or NGOs) 2. Tree planting; OR Connect with an environment-advocate organization and support their activity in December, if there is one 3. Adopt a street child for a day. We would link with community organizers or NGOs who are working for street children. Then we will tour the kids (we can go to museo pambata, luneta, zoo, and/or to a mall, timezone, eat at Jollibee, etc). One kid will be assigned per person. 4) Party for the cancer patients at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (Quezon City) 5) Party for the women prisoners in Correctional (Mandaluyong) E) Participants Jologs + Friends (PCHRD and DOST friends as well as respective friends who are willing to join or to donate or do both) F) Working Committtees 1. Lead Coordination (Role: coordinate with the beneficiaries; coordinate with all committees; see that everything is running well) Ully and I are very much willing to step back and pass the torch to anyone who wants to volunteer here. 2) Programme (Role: come up with games, activities + materials needed) 3) Food (Role: ensure that everyone is fed) 4) Transportation (Role: coordinate with possible vehicles that we need to rent) 5) T-shirt (Role: design, buying, printing of shirts) 6) Music (Role: download music, bring CDs, players, speakers) 7) Shopping/Re-packing: (Role: buy gifts, donations and re-pack them) 8) Documenation (Role: take pictures, videos, write blogs) 9) Finance (Role: get all contributions, budget/liquidate money) G) Jologs who should be part of the Working Committees (please indicate your name above in the committee/s that you want to be involved in; 3 committee members at most; although others can volunteer) 1. Excluded dito yung food, transpo, t-shirt at ano pa mang expenses. The 500 will solely be for donations. Jologs friends abroad are so welcome to donate. Hehe! I) Reminders Please give your response on or before 5 November 2009 (Thursday). We will finalize by 6 November 2009 (Friday). So speak up and let your vote be counted.
